9월 25일 한강 수상 방생법당에서 대한민국지키기불교도총연(이하 대불총)은 태고종 혜암스님, 정혜스님, 대불총 지도법사 법일스님, 대불총 상임공동 회장 박희도, 김홍래 전 공군참모총장, 한승조 전 고대 교수,  유기남 대불총 자문, 박봉식 전 서울대 총장, 송춘희 백련장학회 회장, 이건호 방생법회 회장, 정천구 전 동대교수, 이석복 대불총 사무총장, 신윤희 대불총 감사, 공비출신 김신조 목사 등이 120여 명의 신도를 모시고 정기법회를 가졌다.   촬영 장재균 촬영 장재균 대불총 박희도 상임공동 회장은 인사말을 통해 "나라가 없으면, 종교도 없다. 작금의 상황에 즈음하여 불교도들이 무엇이 호법이며, 호국인가를 바로 볼 수 있는 지혜를 닦아야 할 것"이라는 취지의 강조를 했다. 1968년 1.21 청와대 습격사건 당시 유일하게 생포됐던 김신조(金新朝) 목사는 이날 "당시 124군 부대 무장 게릴라 31명 중에 유일생존자 2명중 1명이며, 당시 북한으로 도주한 1명은 북한인민군 대장 박재경 총정치국 부총국장이었다"고 주장했다. 이어 김 목사는 "당시 임무 목적은 박정희 전 대통령의 모가지를 떼러 왔었다. 5~7명을 6개조로 나누어 5조까지는 청와대 1~2층, 경호실, 비서실, 정문위병소 격파를 분담했고 남은 1개조는 성공했을 때 청와대 수송부의 자동차 탈취 문산~임진강을 도강 북으로 갈 예정이었다"고 주장했다. 그러나 김 목사는 "지금은 전향하여 목회활동을 하고 있으나 남한의 정치 사회현실에 회의를 느끼고 있다"고 회고하며, "북한의 권력층은 원수지 우리가 생각하는 같은 민족이 아니다. 그리고 이 땅에는 나처럼 드러난 빨갱이보다 숨어있는 빨갱이가 더 많다"고 주장했다.   김목사는 "방송국의 기자, 학교의 교사, 교회의 목사, 사찰의 승려 등이 빨갱이가 되면, 시청자, 학생, 신도 등이 모두 쉽게 빨갱이로 물든다"면서 "지금 대한민국은 김정일을 찬양하는 기사들이 많다. 대한민국은 김정일의 것이다"라는 취지의 강연을 하면서, 한국사회에 우굴대는 친북 빨갱이들이 많다고 경고했다.
